  Govardhan Hill: A Sacred Mountain in the Land of Krishna Govardhan Hill is a sacred mountain in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located 21 kilometers from the holy city of Vrindavan. The hill is 8 kilometers long and 3 kilometers wide, and it is said to be the site of many miracles performed by Lord Krishna. One of the most famous stories about Govardhan Hill is the story of Krishna lifting the hill to protect the people of Vrindavan from a storm sent by Indra, the king of the gods. Indra was angry that the people of Vrindavan were not paying him tribute, so he sent a great storm to destroy their crops. Krishna, however, lifted the hill with his bare hands and held it up for seven days and seven nights, protecting the people and their livestock from the storm. Govardhan Hill is also a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus. Every year, millions of people visit the hill to celebrate Govardhan Puja, a festival that commemorates Krishna's lifting of the hill. During
