Chandrayaan-3: India's Third Lunar Mission

 

On July 14, 2023, India launched its third lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3. The mission is a follow-on to Chandrayaan-2, which successfully orbited the Moon and landed a rover on its surface in 2019. However, the Chandrayaan-2 lander crashed during its final descent, so Chandrayaan-3 is designed to redeem that failure and achieve a soft landing on the Moon.
